Stonehenge II

Nov 17, 2014 | Art

Unlike the mystery surrounding the 5000 year old Stonehenge in Salisbury England, Stonehenge II in the Hill Country was created specifically for aesthetic interest.  Al Shepperd, a patron of the Hill Country Arts Foundation, created stonehenge II with his neighbor on his land new Hunt, Texas as a art project specifically for the foundation. it is 90% the height of the original and 60% the width.

After Shepperds death, the project was preserved by moving it’s location to sit on the side of the Guadalupe River on the campus of the Hill Country Arts Foundation.
